A number of people have indicated that their message folders have become corrupted and OE can not read them. Consequently, they have lost all the messages in that folder. It is because of increasing the file size of dbx. There is no recovery option in outlook express. But using a third-party software (freeware ) names DBXtract. You can easily recover your mails from dbx file.
DBXtract 4.5 is a free stand alone utility that is designed to extract emails out of corrupt Outlook Express databases (.dbx) and turn them into individual .eml files. After extracting the messages one can drag them from a Windows Explorer folder into an Outlook Express mail folder. ( create a new dxx for recovered files )

There is a tool work with problem -Outlook Express restore, may restore messages stored in the Outlook Express folders, also example, in case of a serious computer failure the Inbox folder became unreadable, and you see that the message list is empty.
Personally I didn’t have this problem but one of my friends had and I suggested him to try this same tools and it really helped him. We also did tried number of different Microsoft Outlook Tips but it didn’t help too much. Thanks for suggesting me this tool.
